Extended School Year (ESY)

ESY (Extended School Year)

What is Extended School Year, When is it, and Where is it?

Extended school year (ESY) is offered to students with disabilities which are likely to continue indefinitely or for a prolonged period, and interruption of the educational programming may cause regression – and because of the student’s limited ability to recoup skills, it would be impossible or unlikely that the pupil will attain the level of self-sufficiency and independence that would otherwise be expected in view of his or her disabling condition.  (5 C.C.R.  3043)

For the 2019 summer, ESY will be held from June 17, 2019 through July 18, 2019 at Castille Elementary, Hidden Hills Elementary, Kinoshita Elementary, R.H. Dana ENF, Marco Forster Middle, San Juan Hills High, and Adult Transition .  It will run for 5 weeks, Mondays-Thursdays.  Not all programs are offered at all sites.
